Maintain, align, troubleshoot, and repair SPY-1D(V) Transmitter Equipment and Fire Control Systems (FCS) on board ROK Navy Aegis class Destroyer, KDX-III ships, fitted with the SPY-1D(V) radar and the Aegis combat systems while working with minimal supervision.

Perform ordnance alterations (ORDALT) or change incorporation notices (CIN) to the radars to include possible backplane and chassis wiring modifications as well as mechanical modifications.

Prepare and submit reports of equipment discrepancies and possible solutions while actively keeping performance and maintenance records on equipment and communicating the job tasks between multiple group organizations.

Accept temporary assignments that require at sea support on board ROK Navy ships in support of Aegis Systems and travel to Naval ships to support installations and technical assists CONUS and OCONUS.

Responsible for troubleshooting, upgrading, and repairing radar systems while documenting equipment discrepancies.

Analyze equipment failures to determine root cause, escalate investigations when necessary and request additional support from Engineering then recommend and implement corrective action.
Qualifications You Must Have
-
Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 5+ years prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3+ years’ experience.

Aegis “C” School on Aegis Mk99 FCS Transmitter.

Training and proficiency in Basic Electronics & Electricity, including RF, Digital & Analog principles, solid-state electronics, and Microwave theory and principles.

Hands-on experience working with the AEGIS Weapon System, including military complex AEGIS equipment.

Hands-on experience with wire wrapping, soldering, and the use of general hand tools as well as electrical tools.

Experience maintaining Aegis documentation, providing feedback reports to Quality Assurance, and providing solutions to a variety of complex problems.

Proven ability to lead installations and projects, with expertise in working around high-voltage systems.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics.

Comprehensive understanding of electronics, tools and test equipment, radar coolant systems and repair, radar concepts and principles, Operational Readiness Test Systems (ORTS), and industry practices.

General knowledge of basic radio frequency (RF) cable construction, electrical multi-pin connectors, and their repair.

Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer

Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Aegis “C” School on Aegis SPY-1D (V).

Experience with Aegis (SPY-1D(V) and the MK 99 Fire Control System (FCS).

Experience working with the Aegis Weapon System, on board US Navy Aegis Class destroyers (DDG-91 through DDG-112).

Experience with electronics, RF processes and calculations, digital and analog processes, and the ability to troubleshoot these areas.

Experience working on SPY Transmitter variants and FCS Transmitters.

Experience with wire wrap and soldering skills, general hand instrument use and electrical instrument uses.

Experience working overseas on international assignments.

Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills to orchestrate job tasks between multiple group organizations.

Ability to communicate with peers, superiors and customers in a positive manner.

Intermediate computer knowledge with MS Word processing and spreadsheet creation.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
