Application Development - Summer Intern
About your role:
As an Application Development Intern, you will work with experienced technology professionals to develop, test, and support application solutions. You will collaborate with software engineers, analysts, and cross-functional teammates on real development work that supports business and client needs. This role provides hands-on exposure to coding, documentation, and software delivery practices while helping you build a strong foundation in application development.
What you'll do:
- Assist with developing and testing application software for assigned projects and support activities
- Collaborate with software engineers, analysts, and teammates to complete development tasks and resolve technical issues
- Participate in code reviews and quality inspections to improve code accuracy, maintainability, and adherence to team standards
- Support documentation of existing processes, application changes, and technical updates
- Contribute ideas during development discussions to improve application functionality, usability, and delivery outcomes
- Learn and apply established software development practices, tools, and team workflows in a production-focused environment

Experience you'll need to have:
- 0-2 years of professional work experience in application development, software engineering, or a related technical environment
- Experience developing or testing code using C++, Python, Java, or a similar object-oriented programming language through coursework, internships, projects, or military experience
- Experience working with relational database management systems to query, update, or validate application data through coursework, internships, projects, or military experience
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis, reporting, or presentation of technical information
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Technical Project Management, or a related technology field, with an expected graduation between December 2026 and June 2028, or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience
Experience that would be great to have:
- Experience using Atlassian tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or Bitbucket for project tracking, documentation, or version control
- Experience participating in team-based development projects with changing priorities and multiple deadlines
- 3.0+ cumulative grade point average
- Military-affiliated experience, including Veterans, Military Spouses, and Guard or Reservists
How you'll work:
- This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
