We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Logistics Technician in Morton, IL.

Job Summary:
- As a Logistics Technician, you will be the primary contact for several Production Facilities and/or Purchased Finished suppliers. You will be actively engaged with the Product Group, Account Managers, and internal customers to support superior service. These areas focus primarily on assurance of supply to ensure customer and dealer demand is met.

- This role is 100% on-site with no opportunity for hybrid or remote schedules
- This role requires up to 10% domestic travel
What You Will Do:
- Performing work to achieve supply chain performance targets focused on backorders, estimated ship dates, Supplier Shipping Performance (SSP), past due schedules, inventory and turns
- Execute schedule adjustments through collaboration, order min/mults, lost or misdirected shipments, transportation issues, (Advanced Shipping Notice) ASN issues, backorder escalation, and all other supplier issues impacting performance targets
- Grief resolution
- Product Group/Purchasing/Marketing and Dealer inquiries
- Execute Monthly Supplier Shipping Performance Process
- Participate in all projects and meetings to support performance targets improvements and Operating Profit After Capital Charge (OPACC) improvement initiatives

- Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives. Examines a specific problem and understands the perspective of each involved stakeholder. Develops alternative techniques for assessing accuracy and relevance of information. Helps to analyze risks and benefits of alternative approaches and obtain decision on resolution. Uses fact-finding techniques and diagnostic tools to identify problems.
- Supply Chain Management: Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use, strategies, practices and tools for controlling the logistical processes. Discusses considerations for integrating partner and supplier transactions. Recognizes software systems or components used to manage supply chain. (ie: Microsoft, Excel, MRC, SAP). Summarizes supply chain considerations for different types of products or components. Participates in supply chain analysis and uses it to spot trends and improvement opportunities. Works with a specific part of supply chain management process.
What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):
- Supplier Management: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice. Describes the typical tasks associated with using and managing suppliers.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Supply Chain or Logistics Management.
- Strong collaborative, interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with all process partners and customers at all levels
- APICS CPIM, CSPC National Certification, or 6 Sigma Project experience
- Strong mathematical, critical thinking, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Experience with parts product structure, global purchasing and distribution practices
- Knowledge of Caterpillar product structure and organization of Caterpillar parts information and technical information databases
- Ability to accept increasing responsibility

Summary Pay Range:
$72,360.00 - $108,540.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
