Amentum is hiring an entry and first working level for certificated Airframe and Powerplant technicians. Incumbents at this level work under the guidance of a Lead Technician and inspect and repair aircraft, engines, and components, and return aircraft to service.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of the following certificates: FAA Airframe & Powerplant Technician’s Certificates and a valid Class-C Driver’s License.
- HIgh School Diploma and/or GED equivalent.
Knowledge and Abilities: FAA federal aviation regulations pertaining to the maintenance and repair of aircraft; FAA-approved maintenance practices, techniques, and procedures; and aircraft shop maintenance operational procedures. Work under the general guidance of a lead or journey
level technician and perform maintenance and repair maintenance, modification, and repair of aircraft electrical /avionics systems; troubleshoot aircraft electrical and avionics systems, diagnose, inspect, repair and manufacture aircraft wiring and electrical systems/components; disassemble and overhaul aircraft electrical components; install and rig critical aircraft electrical components; return to service sophisticated electrical systems/components, and coordinate the flow of spare and repair parts. May perform Confined Space Entry Maintenance to include aircraft fuel tank repairs.
** Expect approximately 10% - 50% travel, including overnight stays, to fire bases throughout California**
Salary and Other Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is $51.71 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include [geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
