We are seeking a Global Payroll Manager/ Kierownik/ Kierowniczka Działu Międzynarodowej Obsługi Płacowej to work out of our growing office in Krakow.
The selected candidate will be employed by Critical Mission Services Sp. z o.o., part of Amentum.
About the opportunity
The Payroll Manager will plan, coordinate, and handle the duties of the payroll department. The duties of this role will include oversight of payroll, payroll accounting, and payroll taxes for the company, stock administration, assist in external and internal audits related to payroll and accountable for making sure that the payroll department is adhering to company and legal standards. The Payroll Manager will implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. They will also ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates. Additionally, they will resource and guide the payroll team to fit the business needs.
An ideal candidate will be someone who is a game-changer and will take charge of the entire payroll ecosystem, continually drive process improvement, and be a qualified payroll resource for the entire company. Responsibilities
Operate as a global subject matter expert in maintaining market knowledge in payroll policies and greatest practices (e.g., auditing), payroll compliance, internal controls, etc.
Resource and guide the payroll team to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll activities
Perform duties that require an understanding of company payroll policies and procedures and collaborate on cross-functional projects
Act as a key resource for employee payroll and benefit related processes and questions, including calculation of wages, deductions (including taxes and benefit premiums), PTO, enrolment, and other related inquiries
Troubleshoot payroll problems and interface with business leaders on all payroll matters
Develop and maintain pay policies, payroll calendars, payroll checklists, process maps and other procedural documentation
Scale processes to enhance payroll operational efficiency including the design and implementation of internal controls and maintain payroll policies and procedures
Partner with Compensation and the Stock Administration teams to handle stock-based compensation processing in payroll, including stock option exercises, RSUs and ESPP, SIP to ensure payroll tax compliance
Partner with Amentum’s inhouse tax team and external tax consultants to ensure we remain current on new legislation and regulatory rulings impacting payroll
Perform audits on data and system maintenance, including, but not limited to new hire set up, tax forms processing, local taxes, timekeeping input, direct deposit set up, benefits set up, terminations, and garnishments processing, and ensure SOX compliance
Assist with internal and external audit requirements to ensure compliance
Maintain confidential information when required by legal or ethical standards and ensure privacy of employee records
Requirements
7+ years of strategic and tactical global payroll management experience, including experience in team management, preferably at a mix of public and private companies
Workday HRIS
Experience handling third-party vendors
Strong team player with the experience to clearly and effectively communicate
Fluent English is a must
Must be proactive and a self-starter with the experience to take initiative to find a solution to problems
Strong interactive, organizational, oral and written communication skills required
Detail-oriented, strong logical skills, be able to detect inconsistencies in data, and be able to work with minimal guidance
Be able to work reliably and efficiently under demanding target dates and guide to established time frames
Intermediate to Advanced Excel experience – be able to perform VLOOKUP, sum if(s) and build pivot tables required
