Job Title: Junior Electrical Engineer
Location: Richmond, VA
What we’re looking for:
Performs entry-level professional engineering work under close supervision, focusing on technical tasks. Main function of the role would focus on daily electrical support for operations with addition of Packaged business to Richmond and Madison. Miscellaneous engineering functions as required.
What you’ll be responsible for in this role:
- Modify existing and the creation of ACAD/ACADE electrical schematic drawings. Create and review Bills of Material for jobs
- Apply engineering theory to solve electrical problems.
- Monitor electrical activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, and installation conform to customer requirements.
- Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Actively support manufacturing on floor as needed with any Electrical design or fabrication questions
- Look for improvements to electrical processes and components in manufacturing and provide this to upper level Electrical Engineers.
- Support manufacturing training activities, documenting any gaps for future improvements
- Peer review electrical drawings and BOMs
- Act as liaison between Electrical Engineering and production floor/E-Cell
- With guidance from Electrical Engineer work with test lab on setup and data collection of testing involving electrical issues.
- Work closely with offshore center group on improving the FPY of original drawings and ECN output.
What are the basic qualifications?
- BS in Engineering (Electrical or Electronics)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical assembly fabrication
What are the preferred qualifications?
- Solid ability to read and understand electrical drawings and BOMs
- Firm ability to communicate clearly in English
- Team player and the ability to work with other groups and with remote groups in other countries.
- Familiarity with electrical drafting programs and the ability to become proficient in these packages.
- Solid understanding of electrical principles and electrical assembly fabrication.
- Good understanding of engineering documentation processes
