The employee in this role will assist in writing software and deploying software systems designed to allow AI and humans to gather better insight from recorded test data.Strong analytical skills are required along with an ability to relate data to the engine system to derive value from the data.
Job Description
Develop and implement data collection and processing systems for product testing (engine and component), with the objective of protecting engine assets, reducing test cost, and increasing data quality, through the application of real-time analytics and post process data analysis. Essential Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Work collaboratively with Data Scientists, engine program SMEs, and data systems infrastructure site personnel to develop, deliver, implement, and refine STA products, including machine learning methods to automate test monitoring and uncover complex failure modes that are difficult or impossible for human monitors to detect. In this role, you will solve complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise and contribute to the overall business strategy.
In addition, you will:
Contribute to the development of the Streaming Test Analytics hardware / software platform
Deploy new data collection and storage systems to facilitate insight generation from historic tests and providing access to AI models for data retrieval
Interface with program system teams for problem resolution and new idea generation
Drive continuous process improvement and best practices
Partner with the broader analytic community to identify and implement of state-of-the-art anomaly detection analytics
Execute with limited guidance the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements
Recommend approach to meet the technical and program requirements
Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments
Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems
Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams, mentor others in the organization
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments
Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited university or college
A minimum of 4 years of experience in an aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or similar positions
- This role requires the successful candidate to maintain a US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. Citizenship. Preference will be given to candidates who currently hold US Government Security Clearance
