Hinkley Point C (HPC) is the first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years, HPCs two EPR reactors will be capable of generating 3.26GW of secure, low carbon electricity for 60 years, enough electricity to power around 6 million homes. The Piping Engineer will deliver Mechanical & Piping Construction Work packs to support the MEH Alliance programme.
Key Responsibilities
Ultimately accountable to deliver Discipline Specific Construction Work Packs and record in AS9 the work information used to prepare installation (RFI, FCR..)
Contribution to the scheduling of the works for the discipline
Define boundary of scope of works
Liaising with necessary SME’s and client counterparts
Ensuring documents are compliant with latest works information and other MEH documentation. Request clarification or propose changes when required.
Ensure documents are kept up-to-date and reviewed periodically where required
Education, Experience and Skills:
Degree qualification or equivalent vocational training OR experience of installing Mechanical and Piping systems.
Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or Higher)
CCNSG Safety Passport
Proven track record of working in a highly regulated sector, preferably in nuclear
Experience working on major construction projects
Experienced in delivering and operating at Engineer or Senior Engineer level
Experienced in Navisworks model, ability to use excel proficiently.
