The Data Center Construction organization at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is rapidly expanding to deliver gigawatt-scale campuses that power Oracle’s global cloud network. Within this organization, the telecommunications Infrastructure team designs and implements the structured cabling, security, AV, BMS/controls, and related systems that form the digital nervous system of OCI’s data centers. As a Principal Engineer, you will serve as a technical authority and delivery leader, driving the design integration, installation execution, and vendor performance management of OCI’s telecommunications systems worldwide. You will work cross-functionally with design, hardware, construction, and operations teams—while directly managing key vendors responsible for delivery across multiple concurrent hyperscale builds.
Job Summary
The Data Center Low Voltage Infrastructure Delivery (IC4) is a senior individual contributor responsible for the technical and commercial delivery oversight of low-voltage systems across delivery of some of OCI’s largest data center campuses. This role combines deep technical expertise with execution leadership, ensuring that OCI’s bulk fiber and structured cabling systems are delivered on time, within budget, and to OCI’s exacting global standards.
You will oversee the full lifecycle of vendor engagement—design coordination, installation execution, change order management, and cost/schedule tracking—while driving consistency, efficiency, and quality across all projects.
Internal Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Expertise
- Serve as the design and construction subject-matter expert for bulk fiber and structured cabling systems.
- Define and enforce technical standards, design guidelines, and installation specifications for OCI’s global campus builds.
- Review and approve vendor designs, submittals, and testing packages to ensure full compliance with OCI standards.
Vendor Management & Execution Oversight
- Manage low-voltage vendors responsible for installation, testing, and commissioning across multiple GW scale concurrent projects.
- Track and manage vendor scope, schedule, and cost performance, driving accountability and resolving execution issues quickly.
- Lead the change order process, validating scope impacts, pricing accuracy, and alignment with project budget and commercial terms.
- Coordinate vendor procurement, resource planning, and delivery sequencing to support aggressive global build schedules.
- Ensure that all work complies with OCI specifications, manufacturer warranty standards, and regional regulations.
GPU Liquid-Cooled Rack Megaprojects
- Serve as the technical and delivery lead for GPU-intensive data hall builds, managing low-voltage integration for liquid-cooled rack systems at hyperscale.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and liquid-cooling design teams to ensure seamless integration of low-voltage controls, sensors, and network pathways supporting infrastructure.
- Collaborate with OCI hardware and operations stakeholders to validate system performance and serviceability under production loads.
Program Integration & Design Coordination
- Partner with internal design, hardware, and construction teams to ensure low-voltage systems are fully integrated into data hall and base-building infrastructure.
- Support the development of design packages, material submittals, and as-built documentation.
- Identify design and constructability risks early, and implement mitigation plans with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Quality, Standards & Compliance
- Develop and oversee testing, certification, and QA/QC procedures for low-voltage systems, including structured cabling and controls networks.
- Drive consistency in installation quality, documentation, and performance validation across all global builds.
- Ensure all installations meet OCI standards, local codes, and manufacturer warranty requirements.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Introduce prefabrication strategies, modularization, and digital field tools to accelerate low-voltage delivery.
- Partner with vendors to pilot new technologies that improve reliability and deployment speed.
- Capture lessons learned and lead technical reviews to refine OCI’s global standards and delivery models.
Cross-Functional Influence
- Act as the primary low-voltage liaison between OCI’s engineering, construction, and operations organizations.
- Provide executive-level reporting on vendor performance, risks, and key project milestones.
- Mentor internal and external partners to strengthen global alignment on standards, documentation, and delivery practices.
Rack Deployment Readiness Coordination
- Coordinate cross-functional readiness for rack deployment, ensuring all low-voltage systems (structured cabling, security, BMS) are fully validated prior to hardware installation.
- Partner with data hall design, construction, and operations teams to confirm power, cooling, and network interconnects are complete and tested ahead of rack arrivals.
- Lead rack mapping and patching validation, ensuring network connectivity aligns with OCI’s standardized port and pathway architecture.
- Oversee vendor and site readiness checklists, tracking closeout items, commissioning status, and milestone completion to support on-time rack installation.
- Interface with hardware engineering and logistics teams to sequence rack deployment in alignment with project schedules and operational acceptance.
Required Skills & Experience
- Deep technical expertise in low-voltage systems: structured cabling, BMS, AV, security, and controls.
- Proven experience managing vendor-delivered installation programs, including cost control, schedule adherence, and change management.
- Strong understanding of data center design and construction from concept through commissioning.
