Not RequiredJoin Collins Aerospace as a Welder/Brazer 4 and play a key role in supporting the repair, restoration, and development of precision components used in aerospace applications. In this hands on position, you will perform TIG welding on stainless steel and steel parts, supporting both production work and prototype development efforts. Working from detailed drawings, specifications, and process instructions, you will help ensure components meet quality and dimensional requirements while contributing to new product and research initiatives.
This role offers a unique blend of production and development work, with prototype welding projects making up a significant portion of the workload at times. You will use a variety of measuring instruments, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to repair, modify, and build components while collaborating closely with Engineering on new designs and redline updates. The ideal candidate enjoys precision craftsmanship, takes pride in producing high quality work, and values the opportunity to contribute to both ongoing operations and innovative aerospace technologies.
This is a first shift onsite role out of our Anaheim, CA location.
What You Will Do:*

Layout work requirements and obtain needed equipment to perform routine repair and alteration operations, inspect weld for bead sized and compliance with other specifications

Blend, grind, or polish weld ensuring specified minimum wall requirement is met

Work with Engineering on new R&D projects and working with Redline Drawings

Proto type welding projects will be 50% of the job at times
-
Use calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges to measure repaired part and ensure dimensional requirements are met

Complete production paperwork
-
Use and interpret complicated prints, drawings, and process sheets to perform a variety of layouts, as well as complete and sign work orders identifying the operations performed

Perform standard hand and machine welding operations to fabricate or restore parts and tools where close tolerances are not normally required, and specifically defined criteria are used
-
Build up finished machined surfaces and repair simple cracks and other routine imperfections. Use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments to check dimensions and record results

Recognize need and arrange for repair or replacement of equipment used in performing the work as necessary

Perform routine servicing throughout the assigned area following specified procedures and written instructions such as an operator check list for upkeep and to assure equipment operates properly

Assist others with new process tryout, and other specialized assignments

This role will involve bending, reaching, pulling, and pushing
Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience

2+ years of TIG welding experience with stainless steel and Steel welding

Welding Certificate Level 1 Welding (GTAW Stainless Steel) is required

The hourly range for this role is $29.81 - $38.46. The hourly range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
