Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Cook role based in Nashville, TN. The Cook prepares, seasons, and cooks food items according to standardized recipes and Hilton brand standards, ensuring high quality, consistency, and presentation. Responsibilities include setting up and stocking stations, handling food safely, monitoring portion control, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and storage areas. The Cook collaborates closely with kitchen and front-of-house team members to support timely service during breakfast, lunch, dinner, and events. The role also involves following all food safety, sanitation, and health guidelines, assisting with inventory and waste control, and supporting special menus or banquets as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cook or line cook in a hotel, restaurant, or similar food service environment, preferably in a high-volume or hospitality setting.
- Strong knowledge of basic cooking techniques, knife skills, food preparation methods, and safe food handling practices (ServSafe or similar certification is a plus).
- Ability to follow standardized recipes, portion guidelines, and presentation standards while maintaining consistency and speed.
- Excellent time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills, with the ability to work efficiently during peak service periods.
- Commitment to teamwork, clear communication, and a respectful, inclusive work environment, with the ability to take direction and support colleagues across shifts.
- Flexibility to work a part-time schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by hotel operations.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry items as needed, and work safely in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; culinary training or certification is an advantage.
