Job Title: Director, Solution Consulting, SMB Onboarding
About the Role:
We are seeking a results-driven Director, Solution Consulting to lead pre-sales solutioning and end-to-end onboarding solution design across SMB acquisition channels and partner ecosystems. This role is responsible for defining how onboarding capabilities, experiences, and services come together to accelerate merchant acquisition and growth across partner, sales-assisted, and digital channels.
You will partner closely with the VP, SMB Onboarding to identify client needs, develop solution strategies, and define how onboarding capabilities, services, and channels work together to create seamless customer experiences. This role works across Product, Technology, Sales, Operations, Risk, and Compliance teams to shape requirements and solution direction. Unlike traditional product leadership roles, this position owns solution strategy and design across multiple products, services, and channels without direct ownership of an individual product roadmap.
As Fiserv continues to transform digital SMB acquisition and onboarding, this role will help define future-state experiences, influence product investment decisions, and shape how new channels, partners, and capabilities are brought to market.
This role combines client-facing consulting, executive storytelling, solution design, and strategic requirements leadership to drive growth and innovation across the SMB onboarding ecosystem. This is a highly visible role that regularly engages executive leadership, strategic clients, and cross-functional product teams to shape the future of SMB onboarding.
Success in this role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, client engagement, systems-level problem solving, and cross-functional influence to drive outcomes across the SMB onboarding ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Consulting & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, partners, and internal stakeholders on onboarding strategy and growth opportunities.
- Lead discovery sessions to understand business objectives and develop scalable solution recommendations.
- Support strategic client, partner, and business development opportunities through consultative solution design.
- Build and deliver executive-ready presentations, business cases, and solution narratives that align customer needs, product strategy, and business outcomes.
- Represent the SMB Onboarding organization in executive reviews, client engagements, and strategic planning discussions.
- Communicate complex business and technical concepts clearly to senior leaders, clients, and partners.
Solution Design & Experience Architecture
- Define how onboarding capabilities, services, and channels work together to support new client, partner, and market opportunities.
- Design end-to-end onboarding experiences across channels, partners, and customer segments.
- Evaluate emerging business opportunities, partner models, and acquisition channels to define scalable future-state solutions.
- Define scalable solution approaches that leverage shared capabilities and services.
- Develop future-state customer journeys, service blueprints, and operating models.
- Identify opportunities to simplify experiences, accelerate onboarding, and improve conversion outcomes.
- Establish reusable solution patterns that can support multiple business use cases.
Cross-Functional Strategic Alignment
- Partner with Product, Technology, Sales, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Design teams to align solution strategy.
- Act as a key point of coordination across multiple products, services, and initiatives.
- Facilitate solution workshops and drive consensus across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Ensure alignment between business objectives, customer needs, and technical implementation.
Product Strategy & Requirements Leadership
- Translate solution concepts into clear business requirements, epics, and capability recommendations.
- Identify capability gaps, dependencies, and opportunities to improve scalability and consistency.
- Influence roadmap priorities across multiple product teams.
- Drive solution planning from concept through delivery and adoption.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in solution consulting, product management, business architecture, digital transformation, payments, fintech, SaaS, or related industries.
- Experience presenting to executive leadership, clients, and strategic partners.
- Demonstrated ability to influence product strategy and investment decisions across multiple teams.
- Experience translating ambiguous business opportunities into scalable customer and operational solutions.
- Experience leading client-facing discovery, solution development, and pre-sales engagements.
- Exceptional executive presentation, storytelling, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to create compelling business cases, strategic recommendations, and C-level presentations.
- Strong understanding of customer journey design, onboarding processes, and channel-based experiences.
- Experience working across complex, multi-team environments without direct authority.
- Strong analytical, stakeholder management, facilitation, and influence skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, define future-state solutions, and drive alignment across complex stakeholder groups.
- Payments, fintech, SaaS, or digital platform experience preferred.
Salary Range
$136,000.00 - $225,600.00
These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
