Job Summary and Qualifications
As the Performance Recovery Specialist, you will develop and administer periodized recovery plans for student-athletes using evidence-based modalities within the st. David’s HealthCare Student-Athlete Performance Recovery Center. You will partner with performance, health and wellness staff to build individualized recovery protocols that support greater adaptation to training stimuli and reduce occurrences of injury and overtraining. You will educate student-athletes and staff on recovery best practices and track modality utilization using the AMS system.
What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in athletic training, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Nutrition or a related field
- Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Master’s degree in a related field – preferred
- Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), CSVS, CPSS or equivalent professional certification – preferred
- Prior experience in a collegiate or professional athletics setting – preferred
- Experience with athlete management systems (e.g., Teamworks, Kinduct) or similar data-tracking platforms – preferred
- Hands-on experience with pneumatic compression, red light therapy, floatation therapy, hydromassage, or sauna/heat-based recovery modalities - preferred
