You will be the Additive Manufacturing Engineering Lab Manager for the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Additive Manufacturing Engineering Lab which is responsible for advancing additive manufacturing technologies for aerospace applications.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Additive Manufacturing Engineering Lab Manager you will be responsible for leading a high‑performing engineering team that partners across Lockheed Martin to transition emerging AM materials and processes into production‑ready, certifiable platforms.

- Lead the engineering team to develop technical roadmaps, secure research funding, and certify materials for tooling and flight hardware.
- Oversee operation, maintenance, safety compliance, and budgeting of two dedicated AM labs at separate facilities.
- Drive cross‑disciplinary collaboration and communicate progress and issues to senior leadership and customers.
- Provide direct engineering support to aeronautics programs and external customers.
- Manage full‑cycle staffing, personnel development, and continuous improvement of the lab workforce.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
