Schedule: 7am-3:30pm or 8am-4:30pm. Rotating weekends. Medication Reconciliation focused with cross training in other Pharm Tech areas.
Job Summary and Qualifications
The Pharmacy Technician provides functional and clerical support to the pharmacists and ensures that all medications are handled, packaged, prepared, and charged according to currently accepted policies and practices. What you will do in this role:
- You will fill orders by accurately preparing and packaging medications.
- You will deliver medications and other pharmacy supplies to the nursing units.
- You will perform the daily Automated Dispensing Cabinet (ADC) routine as assigned (i.e. restocks, outdates, discrepancy resolution, loading and unloading, etc.) and troubleshoot ADC issues (i.e. orders not coming across, drawer failures, medication jams, communication failures, etc.).
- You will process medication returns (unused, discontinued, or patient discharge).
- You will monitor pharmacy inventory and notify the manager of products that need to be reordered.
- You will assist the pharmacists in clinical reviews as assigned (i.e. medication reconciliation, triaging reports, etc.).
- You will accurately maintain required documentation logs and perform audits (i.e. anesthesia, overrides, etc.) as assigned.
What qualifications You Will Need:
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Current Technician Registration Certificate from the State Board of Pharmacy, or current Intern certificate from the State Board of Pharmacy.
- Desired prior Medication Reconciliation Pharm Tech experience-- this role will focus more on Med Rec, although you will be cross trained for everything
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Possess the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Demonstrated competence surrounding pharmaceutical terminology
- Effective decision-making skills and attention to detail
- Ability to perform in a high-stress environment
