Production Quality Engineer (QE) position supporting aircraft production at RMS Sikorsky Stratford. This position will report to the AFO Quality Engineering Associate Manager. The QE manages the implementation and execution of product quality requirements. Responsible for all aspects of Quality during production including Root Cause + Corrective Action investigations, focusing on one of the following model lines: CH-53K, HH-60W, HH-60M, UH-60M, or MH-60R. Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Supplier Quality, the Customer and additional cross functional organizations.
THE WORK
- Provide general product life cycle support for mission success;
- Drive product and process improvements in all phases of production and acceptance;
- Lead/coordinate efforts to perform root cause and corrective action activity on both manufactured and supplied parts;
- Generate and analyze quality metrics;
- Support First Article Inspections;
- Support Product Quality investigations and initiatives
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external customer reviews;
- Generate Quality Standard Work and Specifications;
- Support production floor audits;
- Communicate, track, status and provide solutions for deviations/non-conformances affecting product or processes at different levels within the organization;
- Participate in Continuous Corrective Action Boards (CCABs).

STANDARD JOB DESCRIPTION
Applies quality principles in the areas of: design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, program performance, reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality for make and/or buy products. Performs technical evaluations including product requirements, specifications, models/designs, drawings and procedures. Collaborates with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and customers on quality related issues to ensure quality standards are in place. Engages in product failure investigations, material review board decisions and corrective/preventive action. Ensures corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and/or are compliant with requirements. Develops strategies and systems designed to improve internal and/or supplier performance and productivity. Evaluates quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts product quality tests, performs statistical analysis to assess products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Engages in supplier selection process and maintain certification programs.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience / combined education and professional experience
• Organized and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task in a matrix reporting structure
• Ability to analyze data for trends with the ability to identify effective root cause and corrective action
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all organizations, levels of management, suppliers and customers
• Ability to interpret Drawings, Specifications, Contracts that will enable development and review of QE Processes, and related Performance Metrics
Desired Skills
• Background in STEM.
• Experience in Aerospace & Defense Industries and/or a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in establishing Performance Metrics for identifying process improvements
• Knowledge and experience with inspection processes and methods
• Ability to structure, prepare and deliver presentations
• Background in ISO 9001/AS9100
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
