This position will have primary legal responsibility as an attorney for one or more market segments within Rotary and Mission Systems. The successful candidate will have experience working with various domestic and international government agencies, the Department of Defense, and the U.S. Department of Justice. The successful candidate must have extensive knowledge of the federal acquisition process as well as international contracting and intellectual property issues. The successful candidate must be a motivated self-starter who can both energize and collaborate with the team as well as work independently to take responsibility for legal projects. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a high volume of work. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are essential.
This position will provide a wide range of legal support including advising key business leaders, program managers, contracting, subcontracting (sourcing), engineering and other program personnel on all aspects necessary to successfully win new business and execute/perform existing domestic/international programs. The successful candidate will work with program personnel to draft and negotiate prime and subcontract terms and conditions, teaming agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and a variety of other contractual instruments in support of program efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for the protection of data rights and drafting of provisions in teaming and other business agreements. The position may also require conducting investigations and interviews to support litigation or internal investigations. The successful candidate will have general working knowledge of AI legal tools as well as familiarity around legal issues associated with AI in defense applications. Some international travel also may be required. Undergraduate and law school, JD or LLB, degrees required. Must be admitted to practice law in at least one state in United States.

Provides legal advice, counsel and service to internal business clients concerning legal rights, obligations, and privileges of corporations. Draws up contracts involving leases, licenses, purchases, sales, real estate, employment, insurance, mergers, acquisitions and related matters. Keeps current on legislative issues, statutes, decisions and ordinances of quasi-judicial bodies. Examines legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuit. Acts as agent of corporation in various transactions. Advises company regarding concerns for risk assessment. Must have admission to practice law. May develop, review, or implement company-wide and/or functionally specific training programs. May also oversee corporate governance matters and its various committees. May work with outside counsel to direct activities.
Basic Qualifications
JD degree from an accredited law school.
Admitted in good standing to a state bar as a practicing attorney.
Minimum 7 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, in-house counsel or government agency.
Experience counseling and providing advice to clients.
Strong background in U.S. Government contract law and the Federal Acquisition Regulations and strong working knowledge of international and commercial contracting regimes.
Experience with intellectual property licensing and software agreements.
Demonstrated ability to operate independently and lead legal initiatives without close supervision.
Track record of taking primary ownership of complex, high impact legal projects.
Skilled at energizing and partnering with cross functional teams (e.g., program management, finance, engineering).
Ability to translate sophisticated legal concepts into clear, persuasive written and verbal communications skills.
Thrives under tight deadlines and high volume workloads.
Self-starter mentality with strong organizational and time management skills.
Exceptional written drafting ability (contracts, opinions, memoranda).
Excellent oral presentation and negotiation skills; capable of influencing senior leadership and external stakeholders.

Track record of managing large, concurrent caseloads while maintaining meticulous attention to detail and meeting strict deadlines.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $182500.00 - $338900.00

- Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
