Key
Responsibilities
Design and Development:
-Assists in the design and development of
electronic parts, components, board layout and board planning, mechanical
systems, equipment, and packaging, aligning with standards for reliability,
performance, and manufacturability.
-Utilizes advanced computer assisted design (CAD)
tools (e.g., ProE, SolidWorks) to support development of 3D models and
mechanical designs.
Structural and Reliability Analysis:
-Begins to conduct first order stress analysis,
strain analysis, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate the mechanical
strength and reliability of materials and components, raising challenges to
team.
-Addresses identified potential points of failure
as instructed to refine designs and improve reliability.
Manufacturing and Production Support:
-Adheres to project timelines throughout the
design development process and may work with team to optimize manufacturing
processes.
Product Testing and Quality Assurance:
-Executes tests as instructed for prototypes,
ensuring designs meet functional and performance goals while identifying areas
for improvement.
-Collects test data for analyses to detect bugs,
defects, and failure trends.
Research and Innovation:
-Researches next-generation technologies to
support optimization of data center and cloud application products.
Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams:
-Incorporates feedback from suppliers and internal
stakeholders to support the development of high-quality components, ensuring
they meet performance and cost goals.
Project Management:
-Documents essential details about processes and
materials, providing clear communication to stakeholders and ensuring alignment
with project objectives and schedule.
Additional Responsibilities (as needed)
Thermal Management:
-Assists with thermal analysis and design using
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools like FloTHERM or Icepak.
-Executes airflow measurements, environmental
testing, and thermal validation tests for products as instructed, ensuring
compliance with internal and external standards (e.g., ASHRAE Data Center
Standards).
Environmental Test Engineering:
-Assists in ensuring that mechanical product
designs align with relevant global regulatory and industry standards by
supporting the integration of standards requirements into design.
-Conducts basic environmental testing, working
closely with internal teams and external labs to ensure products meet
established standards.
-Works with design engineers and program managers
to understand test results and assists in debug and validation of design fixes.
Core Responsibilities
Planning & Execution:
-Tracks timelines with minimal supervision,
ensuring work is completed in a timely manner and is in alignment with project
requirements. Prioritizes and adjusts work as resources or timelines change,
with some guidance.
Collaboration & Partnership:
-Collaborates within team to better understand
expectations and achieve shared objectives. Leverages a foundational understanding
of business, stakeholder, and/or customer needs to build partnerships with
limited guidance. Actively listens and asks questions to enhance collaboration.
Problem Solving:
-Identifies and addresses issues, escalating
problems to senior staff as needed in accordance with standard procedures.
Compiles and reviews data and/or information from multiple sources to
troubleshoot standard and non-standard errors.
Continuous Learning:
-Seeks opportunities to gain knowledge and learn
new skills and/or tools aligned with industry trends and best practices.
Utilizes feedback and training to improve skills. Participates in a culture of
continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
Continuous Improvement:
-Implements updates to processes, protocols, and
workflows to increase efficiency and effectiveness as directed with some
guidance. Contributes to ideation for future process improvements.
