Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Surgical Technologist, he/she performs the scrub role as a member of the Perioperative team, under the direct supervision of a registered nurse for selected tasks in the administration of patient care within the operating room suite, you will prepare for surgical procedures and arranges sterile set-up of instrument table. Ability to work cooperatively with the surgical team. As a Surgical Tech, you will demonstrate competency in the practice of advanced level case assignment and advanced level equipment. - You will assist surgeons by passing instruments, medications, supplies, holding retractors, and anticipating surgeons' needs during the course of surgery
- You will assist in maintaining safe and aseptic environment for all patients
- Assist the surgeon at the sterile field and the registered nurse during the surgical procedure
- Act as resource person for others in the department and actively participates in the preceptor role in the training of new personnel
- Help coordinate special instrument needs between SPD and the OR for each specialty
Qualifications
- Graduate from high school or equivalent program
- Completion of Surgical Technologist course required
- Surgical Technologist certification preferred
- One year of experience
- Current BCLS certification required
