About the Role:
The Guidance, Navigation, & Control (GNC) Subsystems and CoreSim team is made up of enthusiastic and talented individuals that design and produce the hardware, algorithms, and software required to solve the challenging problems of controlling spacecraft systems in a harsh, zero-g environment.
This position will report directly to the GNC Manager within the GN&C Talent Center organization of Lockheed Martin Space
As an experienced GN&C analyst in this role, you will be tasked with supporting multiple satellite buses including, but not limited to, the LM400 and LM2100 satellite series.
What you will be doing in this position:
- Design, analyze, and optimize GN&C subsystem dynamics and control systems using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Develop and verify high-fidelity simulation models in MATLAB/Simulink and C++ environments.
- Support system integration, test, and verification activities to ensure subsystem performance meets program requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the program life cycle, from requirements through verification and validation.
- Contribute to mission operations and post-launch performance assessments, as needed.
Successful applicants generally have at least 3+ years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline, such as Aerospace Engineering or other related field.

Designs, develops, implements, verifies and tests algorithms to perform guidance, navigation and control of aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles and upper stages during powered and coast phases of flight, earth orbit, interplanetary cruise and orbital insertion, as well as during staging events. Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality. Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations and control laws to achieve a desired position in space. Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control requirements for aircraft, launch vehicles and/or spacecraft.
