As a Structural Engineering Associate Manager, you will:
Manage a team of 8-15 structural engineers by providing oversight, technical mentoring, career development, training, and performance reviews
- Work collaboratively with the programs your team supports and with functional leadership to manage staffing requirements and plan job assignments to sustain engineering capabilities and critical skills
- Represent the organization in design reviews and external interactions, practicing Full Spectrum Leadership behaviors
- Oversee technical product management for program life cycles, facilitating strategic initiatives for affordability and efficiency across the programs your team supports
- Independently perform detailed structural analysis of spacecraft components and systems to ensure program requirements and schedules are met
Standard Job Description
Manages the research, planning, design and development of mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Directs application of research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.
