Job Summary and Qualifications
The Director of Operations provides leadership and strategic direction for operational performance and growth, ensuring efficient, compliant, and high-quality healthcare services. This role involves being visible to create a level of confidence and trust for strategic planning, financial stewardship, labor management, direct P&L responsibility, service line development, and cross-functional coordination to enhance performance across all programs. The Director of Operations collaborates onsite with leadership, hospital administrators, and internal partners to drive improvements in patient outcomes, financial performance, and satisfaction.
Major Responsibility:
• Provide executive oversight for divisional operations
• Develop and implement operational strategies and annual business plans. Leads the execution of annual business plans, financial targets, and performance metrics to drive sustainable efficiency.
• Monitor budget performance and identify cost reduction opportunities
• Direct P&L responsibility that aligns with operational and financial metrics
• Establish and monitor KPIs related to clinical quality, staffing, and financial targets
• Lead Program Managers and Practice Coordinators in delivering efficient, high-quality healthcare services by driving accountability, reinforcing best practices, optimizing workflows, and fostering a culture of patient-centered care and continuous improvement
• Ensure high standards in recruiting, credentialing, scheduling, and administrative workflows
• Develop physician alignment and recruitment plans
• Assist in developing physician development plans, process improvements, and implementation of best practices
• Establish marketing programs to enhance awareness of programs and services
• Act as a change agent, communicating the vision and benefits of integration
• Serve as the liaison to facilities, division executive teams, and corporate leadership
• Monitor budget performance, identify trends, evaluate variances and develop action plans
• Manage operating expenses and identify cost reduction opportunities
• Drive efficient and effective labor management
• Translate enterprise goals into actionable operational strategies and implement approved business cases
• Co-lead division-wide initiatives with clinical counterparts
• Drive integration and standardization of services through best practices
• Conduct Comprehensive Monthly Operating Reviews (MORs) to assess performance
• Builds and sustains strong cross-functional and external relationships to ensure alignment, collaboration, and seamless delivery of high-quality, patient-centered services across the care continuum
• Participate in building Proformas for new programs and facility integration
• Address facility escalations and identify opportunities to expand programs
• Manage and develop subcontractor relationships
• Collaborate with the SVP/DCMO and Regional Directors to support provider onboarding
• Acts as an early adopter of new technologies and performance improvement strategies
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
• Establish collaborative relationships with key managers and departments
• Develop programs to deliver medical services through affiliation arrangements
• Direct all activities related to new program operations/implementation
• Facilitate the creation and management of implementation manuals, orientation manuals, gap assessments, order set development, policy/procedure reviews, and job descriptions
• Collaborate with leadership to create executive summary communications and presentations
• Facilitate and organize committees and sub-committees
• Monitor and report on portfolio performance
• Work effectively with development to enhance growth initiatives
• Support the goals of facilities, divisions, and markets
• Serve as a key member of the leadership team
• Work effectively with management, support teams, Physician recruiting and HR functions
• Ensure compliance, training, and education policies are implemented
• Display consistent behavior that enhances the public image of the organization
• Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, selecting, and hiring of new employees
• Develop and retain top-performing operational leaders and support staff
• Participate in ongoing orientation and education of new and existing employees

• Maintain strict confidentiality and have a comprehensive business acumen
• Proactively prepares and delivers comprehensive, data-driven MORS/QORS updates at the program, facility, market, and division levels, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and actionable insights to inform decision-making and performance improvement
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Operations Management, or a related field required
· Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or equivalent) strongly preferred
· 5+ years of proven progressive leadership in healthcare operations
· Multi-site or multi-state oversight strongly preferred
· Effective working knowledge of healthcare financial management, operations and strategy
· Proven track record of performance improvement, P&L responsibility, team engagement and successful partnerships in a matrixed organization
