Program Summary
KBR leads the government services world contingency market by providing responsive, full-service logistics support to forces deployed around the world under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract (LOGCAP). KBR’s enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates back to 1992 when we served as the contract’s original prime contractor. Today, we have a workforce of over 6,000 people representing 40 nationalities who perform work on the contract in 14 countries.
Job Summary
As a Food Services Manager, you will strategically manage food service operations within LOGCAP guidelines, supervise teams, ensure compliance with military regulations, and deliver high-quality, nutritionally balanced meals to support mission readiness.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to Supervisors, Chefs, Food Service Leads, Cooks and all Food Service Workers.
- Plan, organize, and manage all aspects of Food Services.
- Provide oversight and instruction to multiple Dining Facility operations.
- Ensure resources are applied to achieve highest standards of service to the customer's specifications.
- Monitor standards and complete relevant documentation.
- Implement training programs.
- Ensure compliance with company/customer health and safety regulations.
- Plan and oversee the execution of special functions.
- Recruit, train, and manage food service employees.
- Schedule employee work hours to ensure that all shifts are adequately covered.
- Complete payroll and maintain employment records.
- Ensure that customers are served quality food in a timely manner.
- Regularly inspect all work areas to ensure compliance with food health and safety regulations.
- Ensure inventory of food supplies and other consumables, and order necessary supplies as needed.
- Verify food orders have been submitted in a timely manner and deliveries are received to quality standards.
- Accurately tally and maintain consumable orders when necessary.
- Review menus to ensure CONOP requirements are met.
- Arrange cleaning and maintenance services including trash removal, pest control, deep cleaning, and equipment maintenance, as needed.
- Operate and provide services in field and to garrison locations when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- Requires a High School Diploma and at least 8 years of Food Service Management or equivalent experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain annual food service medical clearance.
- Must have knowledge of Military (Tri-Service Food Code/TB Med 530) regulations and related policies governing food storage, food preparation, serving and Food Service sanitation.
- Requires the ability to read, write, understand, and speak clearly in English.
- Must be able to comprehend verbal and written instructions and effectively communicate instructions to others.
- Requires knowledge of AR 30-22, DA PAM 30-22, TM 4-41.11, TM 4-41.12, DoD 1338.10-M and ATP 4-41.
- Must have experience using AFMIS and STORES applications and have the capability to obtain an account.
- Requires a valid ServSafe Manager Certification.
- Requires a valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages.
Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- Culinary certification or degree.
- Advanced education in the Food Services field is strongly preferred.
