Government Affairs Program Manager
Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid)
Target Candidates: Washington DC, Northern Virginia, Maryland
Salary Range: $70,000 -$85,000 + $10,000 Annual Bonus Potential
Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking a Government Affairs Program Manager to join our Washington, DC team. This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career government affairs professional who wants to deepen their exposure to healthcare policy while working closely with experienced leaders on state and federal legislative, regulatory, and advocacy initiatives.
We are specifically seeking candidates from the Washington, DC area who understand the pace and environment of Washington policy work and are excited by the opportunity to contribute to meaningful healthcare policy discussions affecting patients and providers nationwide.

What You'll Do
- Develop advocacy materials, policy communications, and data-driven campaigns.
- Research and analyze healthcare legislative and regulatory issues.
- Draft policy memos, white papers, presentations, testimony, and briefing documents.
- Support state and federal legislative and regulatory initiatives.
- Assist with PAC, grassroots, and stakeholder communications.
- Partner with business leaders on policy-related projects and strategic priorities.
- Monitor policy developments and represent Maxim at industry and government affairs events.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Strong written, verbal, research, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with legislative, regulatory, or public policy processes.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a hybrid work environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Public Health, Political Science, Public Administration, Government Affairs, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in Government Affairs, Legislative Affairs, Public Policy, Advocacy, Lobbying, or a Congressional/State Government office.
- Exposure to Capitol Hill, state legislatures, trade associations, or healthcare policy organizations.
- Interest in healthcare policy, including Medicare, Medicaid, and healthcare regulatory issues.
