Job Summary and Qualifications
As an Ultrasound Technologist, you are responsible for performing general sonography (abdominal, obstetrics, and small parts), NICU exams and pelvic exams, and imaging of arteries and veins. You will perform non-invasive and invasive vascular procedures including but not limited to carotid, venous, renal, TCD and arterial doppler procedures and Histotripsy. You will work closely with other healthcare team members to facilitate exceptional patient care and efficient completion of diagnostic studies and procedures while also promoting optimal unit operations.
- You will demonstrate effective working knowledge of all equipment used in and related to their job functions.
- You will perform complete 2-dimensional, color flow, and Spectral Doppler exams, TCD, and Histotripsy, according to protocol.
- You will perform NICU exams and pelvic exams including 1st trimester OB and limited after 1st pregnancy exams
- You will notify physicians of any positive findings that need attention prior to patient’s release.
- You will provide preliminary measurements and interpretations of examinations.
- You will perform necessary equipment checks and QC procedure and reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
- You will maintain adequate supply of materials for vascular lab.
- You will review and revise lab protocol to maintain a high level of efficiency.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Associates degree from an approved ultrasound technology education program
Experience
- One year of vascular and general sonographer work experience in acute care setting-preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification- required upon hire
- Registered Vascular Technician (RVT) within one year of hire
- BLS Certification as per St. David’s Healthcare policy
