This is OUR story... and YOUR next chapter
At HCA Healthcare, our Digital Transformation and Innovation (DT&I) team is redefining what’s possible inpatient care. By leveraging the power of artificial intelligence, automation, and digital technologies, DT&I is helping drive meaningful improvements in clinical outcomes, reduce manual workload, and expand the reach of our care teams. If you're passionate about using technology to improve human life, this is where your work truly matters
What you will accomplish in this role
The Technical Product Management Director - Mobile Clinical Platforms is a senior product and technology leader responsible for shaping the strategy, roadmap, integration, and evolution of HCA Healthcare's enterprise mobile clinical communication platforms. This leader serves as a primary technical product partner across Digital Transformation & Innovation (DT&I), clinical and operational stakeholders, enterprise technology teams, and mobile product teams to ensure platform investments deliver scalable, resilient, secure, and intuitive experiences for clinicians across HCA.
This role operates at the intersection of mobile product strategy, clinical workflow, platform architecture, interoperability, and enterprise-scale deployment. The Director develops a deep understanding of clinician communication workflows and the underlying technology ecosystem, translating business and clinical needs into product capabilities and technical requirements while influencing roadmap priorities, investment decisions, and architectural tradeoffs.
The scope spans iOS, Android, and web experiences; voice and messaging; alerts and notifications; identity and SSO; APIs and clinical integrations; mobile device environments; cloud services; data and auditability; resiliency and business continuity; and emerging workflow, voice, and AI-enabled capabilities. Success requires the ability to operate comfortably from clinician workflow and user experience through APIs, mobile architecture, cloud services, integrations, security, reliability, and enterprise-scale deployment.
The Director reports to the AVP, Technical Product Strategy and Excellence and partners closely with Domain Leaders, Mobile Solutions leadership, Enterprise Architecture, Engineering, Design, Data, Cybersecurity, Operations, and clinical stakeholders.
What you will do:
Own the technical product strategy and HCA-facing roadmap for enterprise mobile clinical communication platforms, connecting clinical and operational outcomes to platform capabilities, technical investments, and measurable adoption goals.
- Serve as a senior DT&I product counterpart to Mobile Solutions leadership, representing HCA enterprise priorities while balancing clinical needs, platform strategy, commercial product considerations, technical sustainability, and long-term product evolution.
- Develop a deep understanding of clinician communication and collaboration workflows across nursing, providers, ancillary teams, command centers, and other care settings; translate workflow needs into scalable product capabilities and technical requirements.
- Drive cross-platform strategy across iOS, Android, and web, including deliberate decisions about platform parity, shared-device and BYOD experiences, accessibility, mobile OS and SDK lifecycle, technical debt, and platform-specific capabilities.
- Own the product perspective on platform reliability, availability, scalability, performance, disaster recovery, and business continuity, partnering with Engineering and Architecture to ensure dependable operation in mission-critical care environments.
- Lead technical product strategy for integrations with HCA's broader clinical and enterprise ecosystem, including EHR and clinical applications, identity platforms, communications infrastructure, monitoring and alerting systems, scheduling solutions, device-management platforms, and emerging digital workflows.
- Define product requirements and integration patterns for APIs, SDKs, app-to-app experiences, deep links, SSO, contextual launch, event-driven workflows, notifications, and other mechanisms that embed mobile capabilities into the broader clinician experience.
- Partner with clinical, operational, Design, Engineering, Architecture, Data, Cybersecurity, and product leaders to identify friction in clinician workflows and prioritize opportunities that improve adoption, reduce cognitive burden and notification fatigue, improve communication reliability, and accelerate care coordination.
- Use user evidence, operational data, technical dependencies, adoption metrics, risk, and business value to influence roadmap priorities and investment decisions; clearly articulate tradeoffs and recommendations to senior leaders.
- Identify cross-pod and cross-domain opportunities, risks, dependencies, and reusable capabilities, elevating capabilities that warrant broader DT&I portfolio consideration without losing accountability for the mobile platform's specific needs.
- Coach Product Owners and Digital Product Analysts (DPAs) on technical product management practices, including discovery, scoping, dependency management, inspection, prioritization, and outcome-oriented product thinking.
- Provide embedded, hands-on support during complex delivery, enterprise rollout, platform transition, or capacity-risk periods; partner with technical leadership to mitigate delivery risks associated with complexity, capability gaps, or cross-team dependencies.
- Elevate systemic issues, product insights, technical risks, and recommendations to the AVP, Technical Product Management to inform enterprise-level decision-making.
- At the Director level, serve as a mentor to other Technical Product Managers and lead complex, multi-domain initiatives with high enterprise visibility.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement.”
