Job Summary and Qualifications
Assists the pharmacist in the performance of the pharmacy daily routine. This shall be carried out in accordance with all state/federal laws, JCAHO Standards, and hospital/department policies and procedures. May be required to work at Ocala Regional Medical Center, West Marion Community Hospital, and/or The Free Standing Emergency Departments as needed.

Essential Duties: |
Accurately assists the pharmacist in filling physician orders and according to the department’s established priorities.
Identifies critical issues, prioritize workload and communicate to appropriate personnel any issues in a timely manner.
Greets people entering the department; smiles and makes direct eye contact; gives full attention to the person, maintains an even voice level.
Answers telephones, answers questions and refers or transfers callers, answers telephones by the third (3rd) ring, identifies the department and name, speaks clearly, addresses the caller by name when appropriate.
Complete daily work assignments with minimal supervision or direction.
Accurately maintain required documentation logs.
Responsible for maintain medication storage and security as per regulatory requirements throughout the organization.
Performs quality control and performance improvement functions as assigned. Completes all education requirements and/or other activities needed to maintain competency.
Accurately performs and documents monthly medication storage area inspections as assigned.
Performs basic billing functions.
Accurately performs required calculations.
Accurately and safely compounds and labels medications and parenteral admixtures. Accurately packages and prepares pre-packages and unit dose medications for dispensing as assigned.
Always utilizes aseptic techniques in the preparation of parenteral products. |
What qualifications you will need:
- (PharmTech) Pharmacy Technician License
- High School Graduate / GED
