The Construction & Manufacturing Team supports all of Haskell’s delivery groups across the company and the projects throughout the United States. The Construction & Manufacturing Team is responsible for providing the field management personnel, from the craft worker to the Project Superintendent. The Construction & Manufacturing Team also provides the team member with logistical support; including but not limited to establishing per diem rates, company trucks for superintendents, and the coordination of arrival for team members as needed on the project. The Construction & Manufacturing Team provides continual training for our team members to support their development from entry-level craft workers, via in-house/online courses, to local jurisdiction apprenticeship programs. Joining our Construction & Manufacturing Team will enable you to build the buildings on which people depend; collaborating with your team to overcome obstacles and fix problems on the job site using your skills. In this role as directed by the Project Superintendent, you will be responsible for the supervision of selected phases of a project and for obtaining successful cost results in labor and general materials purchases for assigned project(s).
Job Responsibilities:
- Takes responsibility for designated phase or scope for a construction project
- Coordinates and directs trades for those phases or scopes, including subcontractors
- Plans and develops construction techniques and methods such as formwork and temporary structures, materials handling, crew sizes and deployment, equipment requirements, and task sequences
- Purchases general materials and requisitions rental equipment
- Identifies and recommends outstanding workers for the Permanent Construction Employee (PCE) program and trains and develops assigned PCEs in preparation for their promotions
- Advises management when extra work is requested by the owner or occasioned by job conditions beyond the original estimate or contract documents
- Makes recommendations for hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions for project-based employees and subcontractors under your supervision; works to resolve conflicts and handles complaints
- Completes performance reviews of assigned employees
- Dependent on project type takes charge of layout and produces accurate line and grade for work; checks and verifies dimensions within the design drawings for each assigned phase of work; coordinates shop drawings
- Responsible for day-to-day quality control for work under your supervision
- Responsible for enforcing company safety and accident programs for the project
- Sets the example, along with Superintendent, for proper dress and safety awareness
- In the absence of the Superintendent, you are responsible for the overall management of the project
Education/Experience:
- High school graduate, with good verbal and written communication skills
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in the construction industry with at least one year of experience as a Craft Foreman
- Understanding of applicable building codes and how to read design drawings is required
Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications:
- Good organizational and verbal communication skills; attention to detail
- Ability to independently carry out detailed written and verbal instructions
- Ability to provide effective verbal and written instructions
- Good analysis and observation skills
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities in tough situations
- Must possess sound and deep knowledge about construction procedures and safety measures
- Excellent delegation and time management skills
- Must maintain current certification in First Aid and CPR
- Maintains an OSHA 10-hour course certification that is current within the past three years

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
