We welcome highly skilled specialists across all core disciplines—including Certified Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses (CWOCN), Certified Wound Care Nurses (CWCN), Wound Care Certified (WCC) Registered Nurses, Ostomy Management Specialists (OMS), Wound Care Specialists, Skin and Wound Care Nurse Specialists, Skin Integrity Nurses, Wound Care Treatment RNs, Hyperbaric Nurses, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) RNs, and Treatment RNs. Operating on a flexible PRN basis, you will apply the nursing process to a diverse patient demographic utilizing evidence-based modalities. Our Advanced Wound Care Center provides a full continuum of leading-edge therapies, including complex hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), advanced and conventional wound dressings, biological skin substitutes, negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT), compression therapy, debridement, and specialized offloading/total contact casting. Your expertise will be backed by a highly decorated service line; our program has been honored with the Advanced Wound Care Center of Distinction Award by Healogics and the prestigious Robert A. Warriner III, MD, Clinical Excellence Award, placing our facility in the top 10% of wound centers nationwide. Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.
What you will do in this role:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate personalized treatment plans for assigned patients within the Wound Healing Center.
- Assist physicians directly with the design and execution of specialized clinical wound treatment plans and advanced diagnostic testing.
- Safe and accurately deliver hyperbaric oxygen therapy and modalities under the direct supervision of a hyperbaric physician.
- Uphold all established AWCC Standards of Nursing Practice while working under the supervision of the Clinical Operations Manager.
- Act strictly within the guidelines of federal and state laws, Joint Commission (JCAHO) standards, and ethical nursing practice.
- Participate actively in department-specific performance improvement review activities to optimize patient safety and clinical healing rates.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
- Current BLS issued from American Heart Association required
- 2 years of clinical Med-Surg experience as a licensed RN in a hospital required, Wound Care experience preferred.
