Job Overview & Responsibilities
The Project Management Specialist is an individual contributor who will report up through the Project Management Leader at United Launch Alliance’s rocket factory and will be responsible for some or all the following:
- Manage a technical development project over its lifecycle, from initiation through closure while meeting schedule and budget commitments.
- Initiates project planning, execution and monitoring, and achieving the objectives of the project to enable project closure.
- Develops and maintains a schedule to ensure timely completion of the project.
- Charters the project by defining system scope and project objectives.
- Coordinates, collaborates and informs all stakeholders affected by and interested in the project outcome, including end-users, distributors, suppliers, and others within the value stream.
- Adheres to quality standards and systems engineering processes, and attainment of project deliverables by managing risks, issues, and opportunities identified during planning and execution.
- Conducts After Action Reviews to reflect on the project approach and results, and documenting lessons learned to share with other project managers.
- Establish Identifies, Executes, and Implements Continuous Improvement Opportunities.
- Works with stakeholders (production, finance, industrial engineers, tool design, etc) to ensure all project requirements are identified and achieved.

Bachelor
Required Years of Experience
Minimum of 4 years of related work experience
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Exposure to manufacturing techniques and assemblies.
- Proven ability to troubleshooting problems and arriving at a solution in a timely manner.
- Knowledge of reading Blueprints.
- Proven attention to details and good documentation of observations/findings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
- Ability to work at elevated heights and small spaces.
- This position will require working extended hours and /or weekends along with off shifts, as necessary to support testing and production delivery activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Establish CI vision for the organization and partners with key leaders and individuals to execute vision.
- Proven experience resolving complex problems utilizing Six Sigma Methodology using Green Belt and Black Belt methodology.
- Demonstrated success in improving efficiency of complex processes and/or project management.
- Previous experience working in an aerospace company.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) experience.
- Proficient skills in Earned Value Management (EVM).
