Job Summary and Qualifications
The Business Office Coordinator is responsible for timely and accurate processes associated with the following job duties; reception and clerical as needed; admission/registration process; obtaining and inputting necessary patient information; coordination of patient information with medical records; obtaining copies of necessary identification and insurance cards; securing signatures needed upon registration; activating patients.
The Authorization Coordinator is responsible for verification of insurance and eligibility; obtaining CPT codes and certifying authorizations; communicating needs for authorization with team; monitoring documentation needs; entering authorization numbers into the registration system and attaching documentation; assisting with appeals for authorizations. Run medical necessity for all cancer treatment center patients.
What qualifications will you need:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Coding Certification or two (2) years of experience in billing and coding preferred but not required
- Experience processing insurance requests and using insurance portals, i.e., Availity, Evicor preferred.
- Computer Literacy required, including the use of Microsoft Word
- Previous experience with registration preferred but not required.
What you do in this role:
- Admission/Registration in Meditech/Aria for all CTC patients.
- Re-registration of patients monthly throughout treatment course.
- Obtain patient demographics and update information in Meditech/Aria.
- Collects copies of necessary identification and insurance cards.
- Primary point of contact with hospital medical records; notification of any duplicate or incorrect accounts
- Scanning medical records into ARIA and uploading necessary documents into HPF
- Activating all Cancer Treatment Center patients daily
- Assist in securing signatures as necessary for release of medical information, insurance benefits, and payment of services from legally responsible parties
- Verification of insurance and eligibility throughout the course of treatment
- Gather necessary CPT codes to acquire authorization for outpatient oncology
