OCI is looking for an Infrastructure Capacity Planner to support edge, backbone, and IP capacity planning for OCI’s global network. This role offers the opportunity to build expertise in large-scale network infrastructure while contributing to the planning and delivery of capacity needed to support OCI’s continued growth.
The Infrastructure Capacity Planner will analyze network demand, utilization, and infrastructure needs across defined edge and backbone domains. Working with experienced planners, network engineers, sourcing teams, and other stakeholders, this individual will help develop capacity plans, support investment decisions, and identify opportunities to improve network performance, scalability, and reliability.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in network planning, network engineering, capacity planning, telecommunications, IP networking, or a related technical field.
- Familiarity with IP networking concepts, backbone or edge network infrastructure, and network capacity or traffic analysis.
- Exposure to IP transit, peering, fiber, wavelength, or transport-network planning is preferred.
- Ability to analyze technical and operational data, identify trends, and communicate clear findings and recommendations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document assumptions, findings, and planning recommendations.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.

- Analyze demand forecasts, network utilization, growth trends, and capacity constraints to identify infrastructure requirements and risks.
- Develop and maintain capacity models, reports, forecasts, and planning documentation for assigned network domains.
- Prepare analyses and recommendations that support capital investment and infrastructure expansion decisions.
- Partner with network engineering, operations, sourcing, and other internal teams to validate requirements and coordinate capacity plans.
- Track capacity projects, key milestones, costs, and dependencies; escalate potential risks or constraints to senior team members.
- Support IP transit and peering planning through analysis of traffic trends, connectivity requirements, and available network capacity.
- Participate in cross-functional planning discussions to ensure capacity considerations are incorporated into network expansion and operational decisions.
- Monitor industry trends, network technologies, and supplier developments relevant to backbone and edge infrastructure planning.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of planning processes, data quality, tools, and documentation.
- Help ensure capacity plans align with applicable standards, reliability objectives, and operational requirements.
