Job Description The Test Engineering Assistant provides support to our Canal Street factory that supports several business areas and Product lines. This role assists engineering teams by executing test procedures, operating and maintaining RF/electronic test equipment, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring accurate documentation of test results to support system verification and validation activities.
This is a first shift position working a 4/10 Monday through Friday work schedule.Starting time 5:30 am-this can be flexible.
Core Responsibilities:
- Set up, calibrate, and operate complex Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and manual test setups using Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Signal Generators, and Oscilloscopes.
- Diagnose complex RF module, transceiver, and power amplifier failures down to the component or PCBA level to minimize factory line downtime.
- Execute and interface with automated test software scripts built on LabVIEW, TestStand, or Python, identifying and documenting code bugs or test sequence anomalies.
- Author and process Material Review Board (MRB) documentation, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
- Monitor First Pass Yield (FPY) data, identify recurring defect trends, and partner with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to implement corrective actions.
- Provide technical guidance to junior technicians
Required Education, Experience, & Skills - High School Diploma OR GED
- Minimum 4 years hands-on experience in electronics testing
- Focused experience with RF production testing and calibration, operating RF equipment (Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Power meters, VNA's, etc...)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills - Active Secret Clearance or higher
- 8-10 years electronics testing with at least 4-5 years RF production testing, calibration and hardware tuning
- Associate Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology (ASEET). Equivalent specialized military tech training (e.g., Navy AT, Marine Corps / Air Force RF technician) is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma tools, and 7S principles.
- Ability to read and interpret complex RF schematics, block diagrams, and wire harness drawings.
Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $75998 - $121597
