The Role
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Resolve payroll errors and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Assists in audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Performs other duties (SOX, General Ledger, Reporting, Reconciliation) as assigned.
This is a part-time position at 20 hours per week.
The Requirements
- Knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Strong Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel).
- Adaptability with a growth mindset.
- Proficient with payroll software. UKG experience preferred and HRIS experience a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field recommended.
- Three to five years of related experience required.
- Public company experience a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
Our firm offers a competitive base salary and comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being, growth, and long-term success of our people. Salary Range: For individuals hired, the expected hourly rate range for this role is $39.09 to $52.88 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and skill set.
Benefits: Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance coverage. Employees may enroll in the firm’s 401(k) plan upon hire.
