Job Summary and Qualifications
Working Supervisor coordinates all areas of the CT department, follows physician orders, performs quality procedures, practices quality patient care, customer service, maintains competencies, participates in equipment Q.C., completes all records and documentations, practices radiation safety, coordinates imaging students, department involvement, performs other duties as assigned. Flexibility required with erratic census and unexpected needs of the department. Must work successfully within structure of team concept.
Supervisor’s responsibilities include:
- Creates work schedules to ensure service.
- Aides Director with evaluation and assessment of CT personnel.
- Aides Director in assessing service and technical needs.
- Aides management in training other techs in CT Perform special assignments as needed/requested.
- Serves as a clinical resource to department staff, students, volunteers and other departments, and contributes to the teamwork essential to ensuring quality patient care.
- Observes and counsels employees regarding performance, conduct, attendance and other matters.
- Keeps abreast of the new procedures, equipment, methods and participates in their evaluation and application.
- Assists Director in developing new policy and procedures.
- Makes recommendations for changes and improvement with existing policy and procedure. Oversee quality control on equipment and CT exams.
- Initiative and judgment required in assuming responsibilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively, integrity to work with confidential information, ability to deal with patients of all ages.
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility in response to unexpected needs of the department.
- Must possess good interpersonal skills.
- Interact effectively with all Imaging modalities, physicians, and nursing units to improve workflow, patient communications, and customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of ACR, Joint Commission and State requirements.
What qualifications you will need:
Education/Skills:
- Technical degree or vocational training.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of CT experience preferred, prior supervisory or lead experience preferred.
Licenses, Registrations and/or Certifications:
- ARRT(R) and Medical Radiologic Technologist.
- BLS obtained by HCA approved vendor. ARRT (CT) preferred. D. Specific Requirements.
- Must be able to be on an on-call status and respond within thirty (30) minutes of notification.
- Must be able to work at all Medical City Alliance affiliated facilities depending on department needs.
