We have an exciting opportunity for a Cleanroom Production Control Engineer to join our team!
Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize precision cleaning methods for a variety of metals, plastics, and elastomeric materials
- Evaluate hardware and select compatible cleaning chemicals, materials, etc., to reach desired cleanliness level/requirement
- Develop and implement contamination control and quality control requirements in accordance with NASA standards
- Investigate sources of FOD/contamination and implement new processes to prevent reoccurrence
- Design, develop, and oversee the installation of new lab equipment and systems
- Provide direction and training to new and current technicians on contamination control and precision cleaning techniques
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance precision cleaning processes and procedures
- Interface with customers to provide technical guidance on cleaning requirements/compatibility
- Organize and facilitate annual cleanroom recertifications
- Ensure cleanroom is compliant with NASA and industry standards. Maintain high level of cleanliness
- Monitor daily particle count, humidity, temperature, and differential pressure data. Initiate an investigation and issue corrective actions if an anomaly is detected
- Perform regular inspections of clean areas to assure compliance with JSC FOD control protocols
- Analyze chemical composition of metallic materials utilizing X-Ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF)
- Strong knowledge of UV inspection, particle microscopy, gravimetric determination of non-volatile residue (NVR), and total organic carbon (TOC) with ultrasonic emulsion techniques
- Perform other duties as required

Requisition Qualifications:

- Typically requires a HS diploma and 10 years of experience or BS in Engineering Technology or related field and 5 years of experience
- Excellent verbal communication and written presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience managing and prioritizing multiple/concurrent tasks
- Able to make lab operation and scheduling decisions autonomously
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Requisition Preferences:
- Knowledge of JSC hardware classifications
- Experience with Smartsheet
- Experience in project management Knowledge of cleanroom processes and procedures

Essential Functions
Work Environment
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
