Job Summary and Qualifications
The Senior Career Services Advisor supports the Career Services Department by helping students and graduates secure employment in their field of study. This role provides career guidance, develops employer and externship relationships, supports placement strategies, oversees Career Services activities, and ensures compliance with placement requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support the daily operations, goals, and procedures of the Career Services Department.
- Provide students and graduates with career guidance, resume assistance, interview preparation, professionalism guidance, and job search support.
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers and community partners to create externship and employment opportunities.
- Assist with marketing CHCP programs and promoting students and graduates throughout the medical community.
- Monitor student progress during externships and develop strategies to support graduate employment.
- Provide ongoing placement assistance to graduates until they secure employment in their field of study.
- Maintain accurate Career Services records, including graduate evaluations, resumes, career search records, placement verification, and survey documentation.
- Conduct graduate and employer surveys and compile placement, employment, certification, and other required statistics.
- Prepare placement reports and documentation required by TWC, Department of Education, accrediting agencies, and CHCP.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, accreditation, and institutional requirements related to Career Services and job placement.
- Provide feedback to the Education Department on employment trends, market surveys, and graduate and employer feedback.
- Assist with student orientation and communicate Career Services resources and available support.
- Build positive relationships with students, employers, and community partners while representing CHCP professionally.
- Assist with overseeing Career Services staff and placement activities, as applicable.
- Attend staff meetings, in-service meetings, and required professional development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records.
