For 24-hours, selected participants will work side by side JPMorganChase researchers and data scientists, learning from their experience as they creatively solve real world problems faced by social organizations
Job Summary
As a participant in the 2024 Data for Good hackathon, you get the chance to use your data analysis and coding skills to help a nonprofit organization further their mission. It's also a great opportunity to gain insight into how JPMorganChase leverages Analytics and Data Science to drive innovation and serve our clients.
Taking place in Chicago Friday, October 4th and Saturday, October 5th, participants will be placed on a team with other students from across the country to collaborate and analyze large, social good data sets and derive insights for a leading nonprofit organization.
In addition to networking with other aspiring data scientists from around the world, Data for Good is also a chance to meet our recruiting teams and experience what it's like to work in Analytics and Data Science at JPMorganChase.
Participants will need to bring their own laptops to the event. Travel expenses will be covered by JPMorganChase, though conditions will apply. Further details and instructions will be provided to successful applicants.
Participation in our Data for Good hackathon will lead to priority consideration for the following internship programs:
2025 Data Science Analyst Program - Summer Internship
2025 - Corporate & Investment Bank - Markets Quantitative Research Analyst & Associate
Please, note the Data for Good Hackathon is an opportunity for university students to network and be involved in pipeline hiring activities.
To be considered for internship opportunities, Data for Good participants will be required to participate in the standard hiring process.

- Event Date: Friday, October 4th – Saturday, October 5th (overnight event)

- Event Start Time: 1:00pm Central Time on Friday, October 4th
- Event End Time: 1:00pm Central on Saturday, October 5th
About the process:
To be considered for Data for Good, you must complete the following steps:

Job Responsibilities
- For the Data for Good event use your data analytics and coding skills to help a nonprofit organization further their mission.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or 1-Year Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or related major with rigorous analytical coursework with an expected graduation between December 2025 through August 2026.
- Foundational knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, C#), databases, data structures and algorithms.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Knowledge of machine learning / data science theory, techniques and tools and experience working with large disparate data sets.
- Experience in mathematics and statistics modelling.
- Awareness of standard analytical tech stacks (Jupyter Notebooks, AWS, Spark, PyTorch, R, etc.).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present findings in an understandable manner to a non-technical audience.

Please, note the above locations are based on acceptance into the Data Science or QR Markets internship programs. The Hackathon will be held in Chicago, IL.
