The Area Director, Operations Support provides leadership, oversight and coordination to the Area’s operational plan, goals and major initiatives. The Area Director, Operations Support works with field operations to ensure durability of standards and processes and provides expertise in functional areas such as fleet and equipment maintenance, environmental compliance and safety and plays an essential role in building the capability of the field teams to consistently execute on business plans and budgets, ensuring an optimal customer experience for the Company’s customers.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides expertise, analysis, input, information and actions to improve operations performance; focuses on operations activities and processes for collection and post collection sites as well as functional areas such as fleet maintenance, safety and environmental compliance.
- Actively champions and supports all Republic programs and has oversight of the Area Safety Director, Area Operations Manager, Area Driver Trainer, Area Post Collections Manager, Area Recycling Manager, Area Engineering & Environmental Manager to support Company safety initiatives.
- Works closely with the Director of Operations to improve the performance of Supervisors, Operations Managers, and General Managers in setting priorities and goals in order to optimize operations.
- Identifies favorable / unfavorable trends and opportunities to reduce operating cost across the Area.
- Directs and coordinates operations programs / plans including but not limited to Blue Crew, emergency response and disaster recovery efforts, and acquisition and contract start-up(s).
- Assists in the creation, development and implementation of the Company operations strategy and other Company-wide initiatives.
- Collaborates on, aids establishment of and supports compliance with Company standards and best practice operating procedures and processes; drives the One Republic Way.
- Collaborates with the Director of Operations and local site leadership to identify issues, lead root cause analyses and develop remedial action plans. Provides targeted expertise to lead on-site activities to address cultural, process or operational challenges.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in the waste industry or a related industry that included significant exposure to collection/hauling operations.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the oversight of operations and P&L responsibility.

Pay: $206,000.00 - $257,000.00 per year
