Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an SE-3 Cryptographic Test Engineer for the TMAS 2 96 CTG Task Order, supporting the 46 TS / TGBA, Command Control Communications, Computer, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Agile Test Flight;

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field and 3-10 years of technical experience. Additional experience may be substituted for education.
- Active Secret clearance – U.S. Citizenship is required. Able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
- Experience in the application of DoD acquisition policies and USAF guidance such DOD 5000.02, DOD 5000.81 DAFI 99-103 and TO 00-35D-54, as well as drafting Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMPs).
- Experience participating/leading formal or informal developmental test and evaluation activities including test planning, test execution and test reporting.
- Experience reviewing contractor delivered test products for technical adequacy, acting as a government witness during formal contractor test events at their facilities and reporting on test results.
- Self-motivated; responsible for identifying, organizing, coordinating, executing necessary tasks leading to the successful accomplishment of assigned duties.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of an integrated test team.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing including communication skills in areas of technical writing, briefings, and formal presentations.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Knowledge of the Electronic Key Management System and operational distribution of cryptographic materials and equipment is desired.
- Knowledge of how cryptographic keys and other Communications Security (COMSEC) products enable the mission within the DoD operational community is desired.
- Knowledge of how the DOD key management infrastructure operates with understanding how keys move from the NSA, to the using organizations and into the end cryptographic devices is desired.
- Experience with digital engineering and ability to navigate and understand system modeling language (SYSML) based models is desired
- Current knowledge of NSA direction on cryptographic equipment development and the modernization efforts is desired
- Experience with environmental testing (MIL-STD 810) and Electromagnetic Interference Testing (MIL-STD 461) is highly desired.
- Experience with Microsoft TEAMS is desired.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the development of strategic test documents such as Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP), test team charters and test schedules.
- Participate in review and editing of program support documentation including test directives and annexes, and Statements-of-Capability (SOC).
- Support contractor Developmental Test (DT) activities, including but not limited to Design Verification Test (DVT), Environmental Qualification Test (EQT), Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Acceptance Testing (AT) as required. Also supporting Operational Test (OT), Force Development Evaluation (FDE), and certification for OT test readiness by identifying deficiencies, verifying compliance with specifications and standards, and demonstrating a stable test item configuration.
- Maintain knowledge currency in fielded cryptographic equipment and ongoing cryptographic equipment development.
- Participate in formal or informal test and evaluation; monitor test results, including the collection and reduction of test data; analyze and evaluate test results and data against test objectives; perform quick-look analysis to document requirements verification.
- Review requirements, develop applicable test procedures, test objectives and metrics. Collect and analyze test data in support of test objectives.
- Document deficiencies and anomalies of systems under test and participate in deficiency review boards.
- Work effectively on a team supporting working groups and test team planning meetings to determine project testable requirements, required resources (including test equipment and personnel), and determine appropriate methods to complete the test effort.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing including communication skills in areas of technical writing, briefings, and formal presentations.
- Willing to work extended hours including weekends and holidays when required to meet mission requirements.
- Qualified and able to travel to testing sites as required.
