Overview
Magma Space is looking for a transitioning service member with hands-on IT, software development, and automation experience to help run and improve our technology environment through the DoD SkillBridge program.
You'll work directly with the CIO to support users, endpoints, accounts, and business applications across our Microsoft 365 GCC High and Azure Government environments. You'll also build internal applications and automations, and help set up secure CI/CD pipelines that move code from approved external development environments into controlled internal deployment.
You'll also support CMMC documentation and evidence collection, provide cybersecurity support for our internal lab, maintain our public website, and help engineering apply secure-by-design practices and keep software lifecycle records for Magma's spaceflight hardware.
This is a hands-on role. It suits someone who's comfortable solving a user's technical problem, writing and maintaining code, making deployment processes more secure, and documenting the work so others can run and maintain it.
We're a close-knit, mission-aligned team that likes building side by side in our DC office. We're looking for someone with startup DNA who moves fast and wants real ownership of the systems behind hardware flying on the next generation of spacecraft. We've just closed an oversubscribed funding round and have several high-stakes projects underway with NASA and the U.S. Space Force. This is your chance to help build the future of spaceflight from the ground up.
About Us
At Magma Space, we’re on a mission to deliver the most precise spacecraft pointing ever achieved. We are developing groundbreaking control actuators, including magnetically levitated reaction wheels and control moment gyroscopes that drastically reduce onboard vibrations while delivering unmatched momentum. But our vision goes beyond hardware — we’re at the forefront of integrating AI-enhanced software for real-time environment monitoring with novel sensing capabilities. Our goal is to provide satellites with an unprecedented level of stability, agility, and accuracy, enhancing their capabilities like never before.
We're proud to be supported by NASA, the U.S. Space Force, and Intelligence organizations, who see Magma's technology as critical to the success of the next generation of space missions. With three tech demos scheduled to go to space in 2027, we're gearing up to take the space sector by storm.
Join us at Magma Space and make a lasting impact on the booming space economy!

- Provide day-to-day IT support for users, endpoints, accounts, and business applications in Microsoft 365 GCC High and Azure Government.
- Administer identity and device management (Entra ID, Intune, conditional access, MFA) and help keep systems patched, configured, and hardened.
- Build and maintain internal applications, scripts, and automations (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Power Automate) that streamline business and engineering workflows.
- Help design and implement secure CI/CD pipelines, including source control, automated builds, code scanning, secrets management, and controlled promotion to internal deployment.
- Support CMMC and NIST SP 800-171 compliance by drafting and maintaining policies, procedures, the System Security Plan (SSP), and audit evidence.
