Lead a high-impact execution team responsible for unblocking critical power and cooling constraints that affect AI data-center capacity delivery. This role owns the operating model, priorities, and cross-functional execution required to move complex infrastructure issues from identification through resolution.
The Director will lead a small team of senior data-center engineers and work across design, construction, commissioning, operations, supply chain, vendors, and capacity-delivery organizations.
Internal Responsibilities
Lead the critical-infrastructure execution team and set priorities based on capacity, schedule, cost, operational risk, and customer impact.
Drive resolution of complex power and cooling blockers across live and new-build data centers.
Establish a rigorous operating cadence for issue intake, root-cause analysis, decision-making, escalation, and closure.
Partner with facilities, construction, commissioning, design engineering, network, compute, procurement, and external vendors to recover schedules and deliver capacity.
Review major site risks, including electrical distribution, generator and UPS capacity, mechanical cooling capacity, controls, commissioning readiness, and turnover dependencies.
Develop clear executive updates that state the issue, business impact, decision required, owner, and recovery plan.
Build repeatable playbooks, lessons learned, and metrics to prevent repeat issues across the data-center fleet.
Manage and develop IC4 engineers; create a culture of technical rigor, ownership, urgency, and safe execution.
Influence senior stakeholders without direct authority and resolve competing priorities across teams.
Qualifications
12+ years of experience in mission-critical facilities, data-center engineering, construction, commissioning, or operations.
Deep understanding of critical power and cooling systems, including utility infrastructure, generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, busway, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, CRAHs/CRACs, and controls.
Demonstrated experience delivering or recovering complex data-center infrastructure programs.
Strong understanding of commissioning, integrated systems testing, turnover, and live-site change management.
Proven people leadership and experience leading cross-functional programs in high-pressure environments.
Ability to communicate technical risks and recommendations clearly to executive audiences.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent practical experience; PE, PMP, or mission-critical certifications are a plus.
