Senior System/ Electrical Engineer
KBR is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer/Program Management leader to support the Mobility Directorate (AFLCMC/WLN) in developing, producing, and sustaining the United States Air Force’s C-130 fleet. Candidate should be experienced and successful at solving complex system integration and engineering issues, enjoy working in a dynamic, responsive, and collaborative environment, and dedicated to the success of our customers and their needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical inputs, evaluate and assess subsystem and system specification and technical documentation (including data, test plans and reports) in support and sustainment of the Simulator/Training System
- Evaluate technical risk, assess contractor efforts, performance progress, and resolution of technical problems
- Analyze technical proposals or modifications for design feasibility and system compatibility
- Support Airworthiness Certification Working Group by developing and maintaining a comprehensive Modification Airworthiness Criteria Certification compliance package, and conducting an airworthiness risk assessment
- Plan and support the execution of Airworthiness Review Board Meeting in support of obtaining Military Flight Release (MFR)/Military Type Certificates (MTC)
- Produce draft technical or Acquisition documentation as requested or driven by programmatic requirements taking into consideration cost, schedule and performance
- Develop reports and briefings, plan and participate in Technical Interchange Meeting (TIMs), Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (including SRR, PDR, FCA, PCA, etc.), and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams
- Using Microsoft Office suite of applications/tools to develop and publish products for senior executive review, coordination and approval
- Establishing timelines for both quick-turn and longer-term projects and tracking progress through completion
- Prepping senior leader(s) for meetings and engagements, ensuring all relevant information is conveyed and understood to support discussions and decision-making
- Work with geographically-dispersed teams to produce documents and presentations for senior executive and stakeholder consumption
- Engage with customers at both working and senior levels
- Develope and execute project/program plans from tasking through completion using common IT tools and practices
- Professional writing skills, to include Staff Summary Sheets (SSS)
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline and 12+ years of directly related experience
- Knowledge of systems engineering principles, airworthiness criteria, development of verification and certification requirements, and understanding the Air Force’s acquisition processes
- Self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills is a must
- Experience working in the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center or other DoD organization
- Experience and familiarity with C-130J aircraft platforms and systems highly desired
- DoD Clearance Requirement: Secret
