Utilities and Power Commissioning Manager

**This position is for a FUTURE OPPORTUNITY**
KBR is looking for a Utilities and Power Commissioning Manager to support a giga project development. This role will be responsible to manage the Commissioning Team during phases of pre-commissioning, commissioning, preservation, systems mechanical completion, training, and ready for start-up World-Scale Utilities and Power distribution systems. This role will also manage OSBL Electrical Power, Seawater Cooling Water system, Steam, Wastewater Treatment and other project utilities to ensure commissioning activities meet requirements to complete the project schedule as designed. The Utilities and Power Commissioning Manager will audit the Commissioning Contractor Team during operational test performance. This role will act on Aramco behalf to manage and audit HSSE activities, SIMOPS and permit to work related procedures.
The Utilities and Power Commissioning Manager will support the Construction and Engineering Teams with commissioning and startup activities related to Power, Boilers, and Utilities for the Project Facilities, Plant OSBL and ISBL areas at the KBR Home Office and the Project Site. Being an interface between the client and Third-Party companies, this position requires a deep understanding of the Utility and Power technologies combined with excellent communication and leadership skills. The Utilities and Power Commissioning Manager will manage and control pre-commissioning and commissioning activities to achieve desired targets in conformity within established cost, quality, schedules, process performance and loss prevention.
Home Office Responsibilities:
- Review EPC Contractor’s
- Utility and Power operating philosophy manuals based upon engineering designs
- Commissioning and Startup Sequences for Utility and Power Units/Systems
- Commissioning Execution Plan, Commissioning Schedule, Unit Inter-relationship sequence and strategies, System Definitions/Boundaries, etc.
- Utility plant training material based upon engineering designs
- Review & approve all Instrument engineering documents created by the contractor for commissioning
- Evaluate and Audit EPC Contractors Preservation Procedure
- Participate in PFD and P&ID Reviews, 3D Model Reviews, HAZOPS Reviews, SIMOPS Reviews, provide lessons learned and best practice contributions to the teams
- Provide commissioning, operations, and maintenance related inputs during design engineering and PHAs
Job Site Responsibilities:
- Review and Audit EPC Contractors
- completions management program to ensure the project is tracked and documented
- plant walk down activities independently or as part of a team and review punch lists
- pre-commissioning/commissioning activities
- completion and certification certificates
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or related field
- 10 + years of directly related progressive experience within the O&G industry with at least 5 years in management with average experience of 15 + years
- In lieu of formal education 18 + years of directly related progressive experience within the O&G industry with at least 5 years in management with average experience of 23 + years
- Extensive knowledge of listed Utility and Power Units for pre-commissioning, commissioning, handover and start-up
- Experience with World-Scale sized Utility and Power Units
- Proven ability writing technical procedures, training materials, and preparing and presenting training materials to multi-disciplined groups
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications e.g., Word, Excel, Access, Microsoft Projects, Visio, Power Point. Revu Bluebeam and Adobe Applications
- Perform other duties as assigned
