This position is located at the Air Force Research Laboratory Sensors Directorate, Aerospace Components and Subsystems Technical Division which leads the Air Force in development of electronic devices for sensing for next generation military aerospace systems.
Job Summary
Seeking a highly motivated research engineer to research, develop, and optimize processes for a novel heterogeneous integration (HI) technique. Focus will be on a variety of supporting processes for the existing HI technique including: photolithography, dielectric lamination, flip chip bonding, wafer bonding, and electroplating. The goal is to continue to develop the existing HI technique while researching and developing additional techniques that will enable full 3DHI subsystem integration with redistribution layers, through substrate via interconnects, and advanced off-chip interconnects. Knowledge of traditional electronics packaging is a plus.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Research, develop, and optimize processes for a novel heterogeneous integration (HI) technique
- Perform photolithography, dielectric lamination, flip chip bonding, wafer bonding, and electroplating
- Research and develop additional techniques enabling full 3DHI subsystem integration with redistribution layers, through substrate via interconnects, and advanced off-chip interconnects
Basic Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma and 2-4 years’ experience in electrical or mechanical engineering or related fields.
- Must be a US citizen and meet Air Force Research Laboratory requirements to access Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cleanroom processing is highly desired.
- Knowledge of electronics packaging techniques is a plus.
- Demonstrated analytical and oral/written skills in addition to strong attention to detail.
