Position Overview
We are hiring a Payroll Tax Analyst for our Kiewit Business Services team, to support payroll tax functions for all of our US and Canada employees. In this role you will be responsible for processing and analyzing our company to ensure payroll tax accuracy. You may be involved with reconciling internal tax data, to ensure compliance with payroll tax laws in various jurisdictions, and working with different state/provincial agencies to set up new tax withholding accounts for new company entities.

District Overview
Kiewit Business Services (KBS) is a cross-functional shared service organization that provides the business units with customer-specific services focused on cost and business value. Our services include non-core, yet essential, functions of our businesses including accounts payable, accounts receivable, change control, human capital management, payroll, project initiation, compliance and continuous improvement.
Location
This position is based out of our Kiewit Business Center at 7700 Eastport Parkway, La Vista Nebraska. This is a shared service center in a professional office setting.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and reconcile employee and employer taxes for multiple company entities in US and Canada
- Research and clear refund, penalty and interest notices received from taxing jurisdictions
- Research and resolve payment and filing discrepancies
- Develop and maintain a positive and professional relationship with the ADP representative
- Prepare monthly journal entries
- Reconcile Payroll Tax General Ledger accounts and reconcile tax filings for various entities including 941's and W2's
- Balance and analyze quarter and annual reports between ADP and SAP
- Coordinate amended returns with ADP
- Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external Kiewit departments; understand Kiewit’s core business and promote a sense of urgency toward business-critical issues
- Collaborate with co-workers, internal and external Kiewit departments to promote continuous improvement and process excellence
- Manage assigned cases in Service Now to resolve and reconcile employee payroll tax inquiries and troubleshoot tax issues affecting payroll. Resolve payroll tax issues with state and local tax jurisdictions
- Reliable and consistent attendance
- Support and participate in collaboration activities to promote and implement continuous process improvement
- Perform other work-related tasks as needed or assigned
Qualifications
- 3+ years of general Accounting, Payroll Tax or Payroll experience required
- At least one year of Payroll Tax experience required with advanced knowledge of payroll tax requirements including Federal, State and Local laws and compliance issues
- Prefer experience with SAP and ADP Tax service
- Strongly Prefer CPP or FPC certification
- BS/BA in Business, accounting or related field preferred
- Strong working knowledge of computers and experience in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
- Highly motivated and self-directed; initiative and a sense of urgency to get things done
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skill with the ability to resolve issues quickly while maintaining a high level of accuracy;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; clearly conveys messages and ideas, gains understanding; generates interest and holds attention, listens and is open to the ideas of others
- Ability to research, recommend and implement process improvement/enhancements to create efficiencies within the department and comfortable communicating with all levels of employees and external organizations
