Program Summary
KBR Metrology supports Honeywell Aerospace, Otto Instruments, Garrett Advance Motion, and their suppliers with services including onsite/offsite laboratory visits, test equipment calibration and repair, AMS2750 pyrometry services, metrology engineering, and equipment inspection. They also offer preventative maintenance, equipment sourcing, CMM inspections, automation and programming, measurement technical support, calibration recall system management, and performance tracking dashboards.
Job Summary
Metrology Technician would be responsible for performing calibration, adjustments, and possible repairs on commercially off the Shelf (COTS) Produced and customer-built test equipment. Metrology supports a wide range of Disciplines that include Electrical, RF , Dimension, Pneumatic & light. Job location is primarily at a customer site but may include Minimal travel to support customers at offsite locations.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Calibrates and certifies Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
- Utilizes certified laboratory standards and manufacturer, commercial, or military specifications/calibration procedures.
- Calibrates and troubleshoots fault isolation, adjustment, and repairs using TMDE certified laboratory standards.
- Troubleshoots/repairs complex TMDE and integrated electronic systems.
- Utilizes theories of operation, block diagrams, schematics, logic trees, and software diagnostics.
- Accurately records/reports maintenance actions using applicable maintenance data collection.
- Resolves group and customer issues.
- Seeks to improve the overall productivity of the department.
- Anticipates problems and initiates appropriate actions to eliminate them.
Basic Qualifications
- AS degree or applicable Technical training and certifications.
- Min. 2+ years of directly related experience.
- Provides advanced technical/electronic and instrumentation equipment repair work, troubleshooting, modifying, testing, calibrating, adjusting, repairing, and installing electronic, digital and analog equipment and monitoring devices.
- U.S. Citizenship Status required due to client requirement.
- Proficient using Microsoft technology, including Excel
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of formal training from a military, PMEL, TMDE or calibration school
- The Ideal Candidate would posses 3 years experience in calibrations.
- IndySoft, Fluke Met/Team, Fluke Met/Track and Met/Cal experience a plus.
- Previous customer service experience is a plus
