What We Need:
The Staff Accountant position is an entry-level opportunity to become directly involved in the monthly closing process and daily operations of the Corporate Accounting area within the Controllers Division. The Staff Accountant uses a variety of computer software packages and other financial system reports to assist in posting journal entries to the general ledger, to reconcile various general ledger accounts, and to report, analyze, and reconcile financial data related to premium and claims for various BCBSMA products and lines of business. The Staff Accountant will be someone with solid analytical skills who enjoys the research and reconciliation process, has strict attention to detail, and has the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
Your Day to Day
Maintain a variety of spreadsheets/pivot tables from daily/monthly data files to support journal entries.
Prepare numerous journal entries related to claims/premium.
Prepare numerous account reconciliations.
Utilize various data software packages in order to support/analyze data related to claims/premium activity.
We’re Looking for:
Strong analytical skills
The ability to work independently
Ability to work in a time sensitive environment and meet monthly deadlines
Desire to grow and learn in the accounting field
What You Bring:
BA/BS Degree in Accounting or related field
Strong work ethic
1-3 years of experience in Accounting or related field desired
Proficiency using Microsoft Excel/Access

Salary Range: $71,280.00 - $87,120.00
The job posting range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.
This job is also eligible for variable pay.
