About the Role
The ATDM Metrology Instructor will provide instruction in accordance with established course outlines and expectations and is responsible for curriculum design and updates, as well as the creation and tracking of student learning objectives. The Instructor will take the lead for growing/maintaining program enrollment through such activities as student recruitment, serving as an advisor to students, and engaging with all program stakeholders. They will work with industry through advisories, taskforces, or committees to connect each Program and associated students with job and internship opportunities as well as maintain the currency of the program. Evening classes, weekend classes, and/or classroom instruction at off-campus centers may be required. The Instructor will perform other duties as assigned. Some travel may be required.
Shift Availability
ATDM Instructors and Technicians are assigned shifts based on training needs. Shift assignments are based on business needs at the time of hiring, performance, and tenure. These positions require the flexibility to work all shifts as the program needs change. Your salary will include a shift differential based on the class times you are assigned to instruct. First shift classes start at 7:00 a.m. Second shift classes start at 3:00 p.m. Third shift classes start at 11:00 p.m.

The Ideal Candidate
- Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience in precision machining
- Experience with bench inspection
- Competency in technical math including trigonometry and application of machine shop formulas
- Competency in blueprint interpretation and GD&T
- Competency using inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, and other common hand tool
- 5 years of industry experience operating and programming CMMs
- Experience with assessment of learning outcomes
- Teaching and/or industry training experience
- Curriculum Development experience
Salary & Benefits
IALR will offer a salary of $70,000-$79,939, which includes shift differentials for second and third shift.
