The Opportunity – Perth, Australia
We are offering a prestigious position for a national Maritime Design Director / Industry Leader, to join one of the most talented and respected engineering teams in Australia. Working within our Perth office (other locations considered), you will be involved with design and planning activities for large-scale, multi-discipline maritime facilities with a specific focus on major Ports and Defence maritime infrastructure. You will be required to lead large, multidisciplinary engineering projects, coordinating between various disciplines, managing complex and often conflicting project requirements, and balancing stakeholder needs. The successful candidate will take a proactive approach to maintain clear and effective communication throughout each project’s lifecycle.
Your role will also centralize around business growth and national capability development within Western Australia’s maritime and Defence sectors, as you foster market relationships, provide expert technical advisement, and support proposal development. A comprehensive understanding of the maritime Defence market is essential, along with the ability to engage in strategic positioning and internal collaboration with Market Directors, other Industry Leads, and Discipline Managers.

Who are you?
The below skills and experience is preferred;
Eligible for Australian Defence clearance (i.e., Australian Citizenship required).
Extensive professional experience in infrastructure sector designing &/or delivering Maritime projects.
Demonstrated project management experience, including leading large, multidisciplinary projects with complex requirements.
Demonstrated proposal preparation experience along with the ability to write clearly and fluently about technical subjects or project delivery methodologies.
Experience working with the Defence sector and an understanding of how the Defence sector manages projects.
Experience in the assessment, analysis, design and remediation of maritime structures (wharves, jetties, port developments, marinas, seawalls, pontoons etc).
Familiarity with maritime (Australian or other) design codes and guidelines in Australia and Asia
Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
Eligible for Chartered Professional Membership and/or RPEQ/RPEV accreditation, or ability to apply for within agreed timeframe.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse stakeholders and build effective project teams.
